MODA Magic

2008

The Hit Station

Michael Odanga also known as MODA Magic has demonstrated that he can withstand the test of time. From a young age when he started his career in 2008 at 19 years old he has demonstrated perseverance, drive and determination to achieve his goals as a musician. Born in Fort Worth, Texas and a descendant from Kenyan and Zimbabwean heritage, Michael embraces his African culture and allows it to have a pleasant influence with his music.

Michael found himself with a very fortunate start in 2008 due to a family member previously working in the music business. When approached with the opportunity to work with his cousin in Miami, Michael recorded his first single Let It Go ft Jamaree The Gentleman. After a memorable recording session, The Hit Station built faith with Michael and for the next 2 years helped lay the foundation for the rest of his music career. One year later Michael had established himself as a local talent and began his music journey.

2009 - 2010

The Hit Station, Wolf Pack Productions

In 2009 MODA Magic, formerly known as Myke O, released his first EP project. Although he didn't see any major sales he did receive some positive reviews and a pleasant amount of streaming plays due to being a new artist. Don't Need a Man featuring Laron was a great success considering it was able to make the Top 40 charts 4 months in a row (December 2011 - April 2012) on Ourstage.com provided by MTV. Michael also achieved a #99 overall ranking in the Top 100 Urban R&B artists in the country. The project featured some of his breakout singles such as “Don't Need A Man” Ft Laron,  “Ready Da Roll” Ft Gio and “Pour it Up” Ft Your Boi Lavish and Big J.

Michael took his Focus from online streams to a more local approach joining forces with Robin Blesh of Wolf Pack Productions. In order to grow his local presents Michael was able to work with Nook Turner during a major deal with Warner Brothers Studios and was featured in music videos with platinum recording artist Charlie Boy and Southern hip-hop duo The Ying Yang Twins. It was during this time that Mike was able to expand its Network by collaborating with great artists such as Ya Boi Lavish, Big J, Leraye and many more. Mike went on to release Pour It Up featuring Ya Boi Lavish and Big J. He then followed it up with a great performance at an Austin Community College releasing his next single She A Freak featuring Leraye.

2010

Isis Entertainment

Unfortunately the partnership with Wolf Pack Productions was unable to flourish as they would have hoped and Michael had to take his talents elsewhere. He later found a collective named Isis Entertainment where he was able to do some modeling work at the Austin Music Hall to support their fight against breast cancer.

2010 -2013

Knowmtalkinbat Productions

After 2 years of investing his time and resource Michael found an opportunity to join the roster of Knowmtalkinbat Productions. MODA Magic invested the next three years to establish himself as a serious artist. Working along Rayel Robinson, MODA Magic was able to grow his network and build stronger relationships going deeper into business with other acts. He began touring in Texas from South Padre, Corpus Christi and San Antonio. During his time he was able to put out his next single along with his first music video Moving On Ft Rayel. One of his notable tracks “My Love” garnered some social media buzz. He later released Anything For You off of their album Tales of A Broken Wind along with “Spell on You” and “Not Enough” Fy Daniella Rodriguez. During this peak of his career Michael made good use of this by networking which led to several music videos with Hustle Hard Mob, V.I.C and Nubia Emmon in a major collaboration with funk volumes CEO and lead artist SwizZz. With Michael on the Knowmtalkinbat roster the collective was able to achieve the 2013-2014 hip-hop group of the year in Austin, Texas on the Todd White brother radio station. 2014-2015

The Break Up

In 2014 Knowmtalkinbat  had officially been dismantled and the artists retired. Michael had found himself crashing and burning. Due to the liquidation of the former companies Michael found himself in a position that he didn't have the resources to continue his career and his current status. Michael was eventually forced to shift his focus from being a performing artist to figuring out how he could be an artist at all.

With nothing left to do, he decided to focus to artist development due to his undying passion for music and production.
